When AJ got to the camp where the homeless stayed, she stood in silence, crying for people she did not know and felt that there must be something she can do to make things a little easier on her fellow Smithereens. She then began her journey which started back in 2014 of September. AJ also makes sleep mats from used grocery bags and collect donations to make what she calls; "Care Packs".

Looking For A Small Miricle
Since starting my journey to helping our homeless, I have been using my car more than usual. This is producing more than normal wear & tear on it. If you would like to help me keep my car and in turn keep me on my journey, I would appreciate your help. I have opened this temporary post box and am in search of "Canadian Tire Gift Cards" *OR* "VISA Gift Card" that I can put towards my car. In advance I would like to thank all you angels that sent your help. <3

Care Packs & Sleep Mats
Smithers local newspaper; "The Interior News" and TV station; "CFTK News", has been following AJ's journey since the beginning. She has taught the kids at her local high school and Christian school on how to make these mats. AJ said; "It was heart warming to know that I could bring this knowledge to our children of the future".

CFTK News Story
Our local TV station came to the High School and filmed me teaching the kids about homelessness and how we can at least make them a little more comfortable when having to sleep outside. This is one way to make the mats and I found that this was the easiest way to show the kids.

Finished Sleep Mat
This was me at S.A.G.A. Smithers Action Group Association, presenting one of the finished mats.
S.A.G.A. was an organization trying to get a 15 unit building made to house our homeless and were denied the funding to proceed, now here I am still trying to make a difference alone, with no help from our Mayor or our Prime Minister. Really sad if you ask me.
